MTV cancels freshman series:
After just one season, MTV has cancelled drama EYE CANDY.
Comcast/TWC merger to be blocked?:
Bloomberg is reporting that the justice department will recommend to block the proposed merger of Comcast and Time Warner Cable, because it will harm consumers. Both companies meet with the DOJ this Wednesday. No official word has been released on the matter.
Marvel secretive on new TV series project:
Marvel is teaming up with Oscar-winning director, John Ridley (12 YEARS A SLAVE), on a mysterious new TV series, for ABC. It is not known if this would be the proposed spin-off from AGENTS OF SHIELD or a new series with an redeveloped, existing character. We may have to wait until the upfronts before confirmation.
CASTLE will return for an 8th season:
Series star Nathan Fillion has signed on for an eighth season of the crime drama, ensuring another season on ABC.
HBO and SJP back together:
Sarah Jessica Parker will return to HBO in the new comedy series, DIVORCE. Production begins later this year, but no premiere date has been set.
