Preliminary Ratings: Monday 04/20/14
ABC, NBC shared the ratings leadership, on Monday night. ABC was the easy winner in total viewers, grabbing 11.5 million, over the three hours, while NBC had a slight edge over CBS and ABC in the A18-49 ratings. FOX had some distance in 4th place, in each category, while CW brings up the rear.
One season finale, SCORPION, happened on the night. The freshman crime drama was second in the 9 p.m. hour in all categories. It was second to THE VOICE in the demos and runner-up to DANCING WITH THE STARS in total viewers. STALKER will return to CBS, taking over the Monday, 9 p.m. time slot for the next few weeks.
DANCING WITH THE STARS was the most watched program of the night, with 13.1 million viewers and was #3 in the demo. CASTLE dropped about 40% of its lead in audience and lost 30% of the demo, from DWTS. CASTLE and NCIS: LA had a virtual tie, for the 10 p.m. hour leadership.
THE VOICE was the top show of the night, in the A18-49 demo and in the A25-54 demo, but that once dominating stance is starting to dwindle. THE VOICE dropped 700,000 more viewers, from last week's episode, and lost 10% in the demo. Since the season premiere, on February 23rd, THE VOICE is down 3.7 million viewers and 37% in the demo.
FOX was a distant 4th place, in anyway you look at the numbers. GOTHAM is limping to its season finale and THE FOLLOWING is near death, before being axed, when its run is done.
