Final Broadcast Ratings: April 21, 2015
Mid-season series FRESH OFF THE BOAT and REPEAT AFTER ME ended their short runs on Tuesday night, coming in second place in the A`18-49 ratings, with a 1.3 average for the 8 p.m. hour. FRESH OFF THE BOAT was the stronger finale, posting a 1.5 demo rating, topping THE FLASH. REPEAT AFTER ME drug down the average, losing the back half of the hour, tied for 4th, with FOX. Expect FRESH OF THE BOAT to return next season, while REPEAT AFTER ME will not be repeated again.
CBS gave a trial run of CSI: CYBER on Tuesday night, with encores of the two NCIS series as lead ins. Although the total viewers levels dropped by 15%, CSI: CYBER did grow in the A18-49 and A25-54 numbers, if only a little bit. CSI: CYBER is a true bubble series for CBS. My best bet is that only one CSI series will make the cut for 2015-16, with CYBER getting the slight lead over the original series.
The CW overtook FOX for the #4 spot in the nightly averages. THE FLASH overpowered HELL'S KITCHEN in both viewers and in the A18-49 ratings and iZOMBIE had more than enough bite to handle the comedies.
NBC was second in total viewership, but with the strength of THE VOICE, it had an easy time winning the A18-49 ands A25-54 demographics. The two sitcoms dropped, week-to-week, with UNDATEABLE posting over 12% losses in the A18-49 demo. With a weak lead in, CHICAGO FIRE was down 20% in the A18-49 ratings and lost 1.6 million viewers, from its last original episode, two weeks earlier, when the comedies were preempted by a second hour of THE VOICE.
