2015 NFL Schedule: National Games Released for ESPN, NBC, CBS and NFL Net
The NFL has released its 2015 Game schedule and there are few surprises on the calendar. The season begins in New England as the Super Bowl champions Patriots host the Steelers, on September 10th. Top teams currently only have five games schedule for Primetime, two MNF games and three SNF games. That allows room for key game to be scheduled for January 3rd, the last game of the season.
CBS returns to the primetime game with the first seven thursday night Football games, simulcasted on the NFL Network. On paper, their abbreviated schedule looks to have six good matchups, with the Falcons at Saints game being a little suspect.
MNF Schedule:
ESPN gets 17 games over 16 weeks, with a variety of teams. no one team appears on MNF more than two times this season.
SNF Schedule:
A total of 19 games will appear on NBC, including the Kick-off game, on Thursday night and a Thanksgiving night game. A half dozen teams will make three appearances, including the current SB champs, New England Patriots. The flex schedule begins on October 11th and the final SNF game will be announced closer to the end of the season.
TNF on CBS Schedule:
CBS will have the first seven Thursday Night games, for the second straight season, simulcasted on the NFL Network. All seven games are intra-divisional games.
TNF on NFL Schedule:
The second half of the TNF schedule is exclusive to the NFL Network. like the previous seven TNF games, they are intra-divisional, except for two. The December 10th game, with Vikings and Cards, and the December 17th game, with the Bucs and Rams. Thursday nights are usually where bad teams fins their one, required, primetime game of the season.
