US Box Office Results: March 6 - 8, 2015

It was bit of a lackluster weekend at the box office. The #1 movie, CHAPPIE, grossed just a little over $13 million, in its first three days. It is the smallest total by a #1 movie, this year, going $6 million under lat week's total by FOCUS. With some of the bigger films starting to rollout This could be the worst weekend, for a #1 movie, for the year, until after labor day.

THE SECOND BEST BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL was the #3 movie, its first weekend out, drawing $8.6 million. That is a couple of million more than the first film, released in 2012, but in fewer theaters.

Although it is no longer in the top 10, AMERICAN SNIPER (#11) drew another $4.5 million. That brings its domestic total to over $337 million and pasted THE HUNGER GAMES: MONGING JAY PT. 1, for the #29 spot of all time movie grosses. Worldwide, the movie is just over the $500 million mark.

  9. $4.85 million - The DUFF
  10. $4.50 million - Unfinished Business
