TV News Roundup: March 5, 2015

• HBO Now sets launch date

HBO's OTT launch date set:
HBO's stand alone streaming service, HBO NOW, is set to launch in April, 2015. An exact date is not know, but expect it to be slightly before the GAME OF THRONES season premiere, on April 12th. An official price has not been released, but industry insiders speculate it to be in the $15 range.

FOX looking at OTT service:
FOX could soon be a player in the streaming service game as it begins to see how it would fit its networks and content, in the new distribution model. it may still be a while before we see it available to consumers, but it is a step in the right direction. [LINK]

Sling TV additions:
The streaming TV service has added AMC and IFC to its basic $20 package, which now includes 17 networks. The service also has added a Hollywood Extra Package, for $5, and includes Epix premium content.

Netflix picks up series:
The subscription streaming service has added another scripted series to its arsenal.  THE OA, starring Brit Marling, will have 8 episodes produced for an early 2016 release.

Nickelodeon renews two series:
BELLA AND THE BULLDOGS has been renewed for a second season, while THE THUNDERMANS will get a 3rd season order, from Nickelodeon.

TNT orders more JUSTICE:
the relaity series COLD JUSTICE has received an order for 12 additional episodes, from TNT.

UP renews the BATES:
The new reality series, BRINGING UP BATES, got a second season order form the small cable network, UP.
