Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 03/18/15
EMPIRE rules broadcast TV!
The hottest TV series in years closed out its first season, with its best ever ratings, commanding 16.5 million viewers and a 6.4 rating in the A18-49 ratings, over its two hour broadcast. The series rose 1.6 million viewers and 10% in the demo, over last week. The only down side of the finale is... that the next new episode will not air for at least six months from now.
CBS was a very distant second place, but did collect a 2.0 rating average, in the demo, for the night. Back-to-back episodes of SURVIVOR did well, considering it was directly against the EMPIRE finale. CSI CYBER did slip about 20%, in the demo, and close two two million total viewers, from last week, but it still won its 10 p.m. time slot.
ABC was mostly in encores, but did preempt NASHVILLE for a SOUND OF MUSIC special. The show tied CYBER in the demo, with a 1.4 rating and was not far behind the CBS drama in total viewers.
The CW tied an all repeat NBC line up, in the A18-49 ratings, each with a 0.8 score. With SUPERNATURAL back with ARROW is a more solid one-two punch.
