Preliminary Ratings: Tuesday 03/03/15
There were to spring season premieres, on Tuesday night, and neither did anything to set the ratings on fire.
HELL'S KITCHEN is back and is taking over the MASTERCHEF JUNIOR slot, on FOX. the premiere collected 4.1 million viewers and a 1.4 rating in Adults 18-49. That is near even with the Fall 2014 premiere, though slightly lower. The series should do a decent job in the ratings, but will not ever come close to being a ratings contender.
On ABC, the return of AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. was a bit of a bust. Just 4.5 million viewers and a 1.6 demo rating, was all that the Marvel series could muster up for the first new episode in nearly three months. Viewership is down 800,000, from the fall finale, in early December, but the A18-49 demo only dropped a tenth of a point. It may be time for ABC to rethink the series. Changes are needed if the series is ever to attract a sizable audience again.
NBC rode THE VOICE wave to the top of the ratings, easily winning the night. The 15.3 million viewers is the most for this season and the 4.1 demo rating ties the season best. If NBC is going to win the A18-49 demographic ratings, for the season, THE VOICE must keep the ratings UP to this level, through the season finale.
