Preliminary Ratings: Thursday 03/26/15
CBS had an easy time winning the night in both viewers and in the A18-49 ratings, as the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament tipped off. The early game (featuring Notre Dame) produced good, ratings, but were below last year's comparable game, by 20%. The late game, featuring the undefeated Kentucky Wildcats, drew the night's best numbers with 9.6 million viewers and a 3.3 demo rating. That is a little better than last year's game.
BONES returned to the FOX line up, but it didn't do much in the rating, generating just 5.7 million viewers and a 1.3 demo rating. That is just a tick upwards, from the fall-finale, airing on December 11th. BACKSTROM, now a lame duck series, displayed why it will not get a renewal, come May. It was the second lowest rated show of the night, from the BIG 4 networks.
ABC produced similar numbers as last Thursday's line up did. GREY'S was up, SCANDAL down and AMERICAN CRIME was flat.
NBC didn't do much better than FOX. DATELINE was 4th in the 8 p.m. hour. THE BLACKLIST scored a season low demo rating. And, THE SLAP was the least watched and lowest rated program of the night, from the BIG 4 networks. It's no wonder that NBC is thinking about reviving/rebooting the classic sitcom COACH as a new series.
