Preliminary Ratings: Sunday 03/01/15
The first sunday of March brought three series premiere, and each of the three series had something to boast about. For FOX, the new comedy THE LAST MAN ON EARTH drew the night's best A18-49 ratings (2.3), not just among the new shows, but for all of Broadcast TV. The two episode premiere held onto that number for the entire hour. The comedy was also FOX's most watched program of the night, with 5.7 million viewers, topping THE SIMPSONS. It looks like FOX is turning things around this spring.CBS's BATTLE CREEK was the most watched of the three series premieres, grabbing 7.8 million viewers. however, its demo rating was rather small, thanks to a weak lead in, THE GOOD WIFE. In fact, all three CBS dramas were the weakest series of the night, outside of encores and Dateline, in the A18-49 demographic. Me thinks BATTLE CREEK is set up to fail.
For ABC, the premiere of the new drama SECRETS AND LIES was rather decent. it was second in both total viewers and in the demo ratings, and held onto over 90% of ONCE UPON A TIME's lead in audience. But, a 1.5 demo is still nothing to write home about.
