Preliminary Ratings: Monday 03/23/15
NBC was the dominate network in the A18-49 ratings on Monday night, but the winning margin is beginning to dwindle down a bit. THE VOICE posted a season low for a Monday night show, drawing a 3.3 demo rating, along with 11.9 million viewers. THE VOICE is down about 20% in the A18-49 ratings, since the premiere and has lost two million viewers. We'll see if THE VOICE will hit or sink below a 2.0 rating, by the end of April.
DANCING WITH THE STARS lead ABC as the most watched network of the night, as the competition series collected 13.7 million viewers. That is a lost of just 450,000 viewers, from last week's premiere. The shows A18-49 ratings dropped just 5%, from a 2.1 to a 2.0.
CASTLE is beginning to show its age, as it was last in the 10 p.m. hour, in the demo ratings, with just a 1.4 rating. It was topped by both THE NIGHT SHIFT and NCIS: LA. It may be a blessing that the stars of the series have not signed new contracts, thus letting ABC end it, if it wishes.
The CBS comedies are starting to feel the squeeze from the two popular competition series, on NBC and ABC. Both 2 BROKE GIRLS and MIKE & MOLLY posted sub-2.0 demo ratings and each fell under 8 million viewers. But, they did come close to topping DWTS, in the demo ratings. Both dramas did relatively well, with SCORPION tying for second, in the demo, and NCIS: LA winning the 10 p.m. slot, in both viewers and demo.
FOX is now doubling up THE FOLLOWING to try and bur through the low rated episodes. Both hours placed a distant 4th on the night.
