Preliminary Ratings: Monday 03/16/15

The spring season premiere of DANCING WITH THE STARS grabbed the most viewers of the night, with 14 million viewers tuning in to the first episode, along with a 2.0 rating in Adults 18-49. That topped THE VOICE, in viewership, by close to two million viewers. But, year-to-year, DWTS is down 1.7 million viewers and 23% in the demo ratings. ABC was the most watched network of the night.

THE VOICE did maintain its reign on the A18-49 title, posting a 3.3 rating. That is more than 50% better than the #2 program, in the demo (DWTS). However, week-to-week, THE VOICE dropped 1.8 million viewers and 13% in the demo. DWTS may not be able to top THE VOICE, but it can suck some numbers out its ratings.

THE NIGHT SHIFT tied CASTLE, for 10 p.m.'s top demo ratings, with each posting a 1.5 rating. Not a good number, but not horrible either. But, had NCIS: LA aired an original episode, It may have been the top program of the hour, with a better number.

FOX is posting ratings closer to THe CW's than it is the other Big 4 Networks. GOTHAM encores are doing nothing, while THE FOLLOWING is a complete bust, in its third season.
