Preliminary Ratings: Monday 03/09/15
The season finale of THE BACHELOR did end the season tying its best A18-49 ratings of the season, along with the most viewers of the season. The two hour finale drew 9.5 million viewers and a 2.7 demo rating. That is up 1.3 million viewers and over 10% in the demo, over last week. The one hour post-show, AFTER THE FINAL ROSE, kept 100% of the A18-49 ratings and grew the audience by 200k. The series has been a great program to air between the seasons of DANCING WITH THE STARS, perhaps the best filler, on any network.NBC was still the top network of the night, but, now in week three, THE VOICE has its first sizable drop of the season, losing 8%, week to week. Viewership did drop by a significant 1.2 million viewers. With better weather in most of the country, along with Daylight Saving Time, we should expect ratings to be down. THE NIGHT SHIFT lost 300,000 in total viewers ship, over last week, but remained flat in the demo, for a 1.4 score.
CBS was a solid third on the night, with all shows within a tenth, in the demo ratings, of their last original episodes.
THE FOLLOWING is now a dead series, as it pulls series lows in the ratings. Just 3.5 million viewers and a 1.1 demo rating, are all that tuned in for the season's second episode. Of course it does not help that it has a repeat as its lead in. But, it has established a poor season with last week's premiere down over 60% from the previous year's season opener.
