US Box Office Results: February 13 - 15, 2015

The ladies ruled the box office as their fantasy movie, FIFTY SHADES OF GREY, was the #1 movie over Valentines weekend. The movie commanded just under $82 million in its first three days, recording the second best February opening, behind THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST. The take per screen was even more impressive, averaging over $22,000 per screen.

Also opening this weekend, was the #2 movie, KINGSMEN: THE SECRET SERVICE. The british production hauled in $35.6 million. The spy thriller, starring ColinFirth, was the actor's best opening weekend, in the U.S.

SPONGEBOB was still going strong its second weekend out, placing third with $30.5 million. Over the first 10 days, the Nickelodeon movie has brought in $94 million in the domestice box office.

AMERICAN SNIPER crossed the $300 million mark this weekend, bringing its domestic total to $304 million. It still has plenty of legs and could easily see $350 before the end of February, especially if it get a good OSCAR bounce in the Box Office, later in February.
