Ratings Review: THE LIBRARIANS (Season One)
After a series of successful movies, TNT finally brings THE LIBRARIAN to live in a regular TV series. Now, instead of one LIBRARIAN, we have a young team of LIBRARIANS defending the magic in and of the world. If feel this is too much like WAREHOUSE 13, the first movie was made in 2004. W13 premiered in 2009.
The ratings flux of THE LIBRARIANS is a bit concerning. Two million were lost from the two hour premiere to week two. But it rebounded in week four, with over four million viewers. The lack of Noah Wyle in every episode may have had viewers unsure of the series. It definitely was stronger when Wyle was on screen, then when he was not on screen.
The lone Live+3 day ratings does show that the audience is following the series, just via DVR and/or OnDemand. Over 6 million viewers should be high enough to get a second season order from TNT.
For the 10 episode season, spread over nine airings, in seven weeks, THE LIBRARIANS averaged 3.59 million viewers and a 0.9 rating in Adults 18-49. The series also averaged 6.9 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery, including 3.0 million adults 25-54 and 2.3 million adults 18-49. The hit series reached an average of 11.4 million viewers per episode across TNT's multiple platforms.
