Preliminary Ratings: Thursday 02/05/15
NBC debuted part of its new Thursday night line up and the results were not good. The network was third in total viewers and fourth in the A18-49 ratings. The new series ALLEGIANCE is officially DOA, drawing just 4.9 million viewers and a 1.1 rating in the A18-49 demographic. It dropped more than half the audience THE BLACKLIST delivered. Don't be surprised if NBC pulls the series before St. Patricks Day.
The time slot premiere of THE BLACK LIST did not to bad. It did draw the most viewers for an episode, since Late September, excluding the post-Super bowl episode. The 2.3 demo rating is a season low, but the series should see huge gains when the LIVE+7 Ratings are released in a couple of week's
Week two of the return of the ABC dramas took a drop in the ratings. Week-to-week, ABC lost an average of 700,000 viewers per hour and the A18-49 demo fell 16%. SCANDAL was the only program of the three to post a demo rating over a 3.0. GREY'S ANATOMY was third in the 8 p.m. hour, in both viewers and demo ratings. It is still a potent line up, but the added competition had put a hit against the line up.
CBS was the most watched program, lead by the #1 show of the night, THE BIG BANG THEORY, with 16.8 million viewers and a 4.5 demo. It was down 500,000 viewers, from last week's episode, but maintained 100% of its A18-49 rating. With THE MCCARTHYS out an an encore BIG BANG in at 9:30, ELEMENTARY rose 15% in the demo.
AMERICAN IDOL saw its numbers go up, slightly, over last week, but BACKSTROM is now a dead show. Among the big 4 networks, The Rainn Wilson series was the least watched program of the night, posted the lowest demo rating of an original episode, lost over 60% of the AI audience, dropped about 30% of its ratings, from last week. The 9 p.m. time slot is just too competitive now for series and should either be moved or axed as soon as possible.
