College football tops the cable ratings, for the second day in a row. The early game, the Alamo Bowl, drew 5.6 million viewers for ESPN, along with a 1.5 rating in Adults 18-49. Both numbers are tops for the night. The late game, starting at 10:30 p.m., held onto four million viewers, through the 1 a.m. hour. For the night, ESPN averaged 4.8 million viewers and a 1.3 demo rating.

GOLD RUSH tied the Alamo Bowl, in the demo, with a 1.5 rating, and edged the Cactus Bowl, in total viewers. Considering the number of marathons airing on cable, plus the Bowl games, the Discovery series performed very well.
