Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 01/28/15

For the first time since the premiere, EMPIRE is looking at a negative week-to-week change. With 11.3 million viewers and a 4.3 rating in the A18-49 demographic, the hit drama is down a tenth of a point, in the demo. That could change come finals, later today. But, on the bright side, viewership was up over 200,000, from last week.

IDOL did see s substantial drop in the numbers, from the previous week. The demo is down 15% and viewership is off by more than 750,000. FOX is still the dominate network on the night, beating its closest competitor by nearly two million viewers and two full demo ratings points.

CBS was the only other major network airing original episodes, easily topping NBC and ABC, but still far behind FOX. CRIMINAL MINDS and STALKER are both up, week-to-week, whiule THE MENTALIST is down.

The CW did top NBC in the demo nightly average, 0.8 to 0.7. NBC does not have the repeat power, with its crime dramas, as CBS has with its crime dramas.
