Preliminary Ratings: Friday 01/16/15
FOX debuted its new series, WORLD'S FUNNIEST FAILS, and it did not do too bad... for a FOX series on Friday nights. The comedy clips show brought in 3.3 million viewers and a 1.0 rating in Adults 18-49. It topped the week two episode of GLEE, which followed it, and GLEE's season premiere last week. In fact, it is the best showing by any non-sports program, on FOX, on a Friday night, this season. Talk about low expectations.
ABC was the top network in the young demo ratings, lead by SHARK TANK, which pulled in 8.5 million viewers and a 2.2 rating. It was the most viewers and best A18-49 ratings the reality series has pulled all season. The gains SHARK TANK posted, week-to-week, compensated the losses the two comedies posted.
CBS was a close second in the demo, to ABC, but was the most watched network of the night, grabbing near four million more viewers than ABC. Each of the three series hauled in a 1.4 demo rating, showing a strong and consistent audience pull through the night.
NBC tried to change things up, flipping DATELINE and CONSTANTINE on the night. The result was CONSTANTINE not doing any better in the ratings, while the late start for DATELINE dragged its numbers down. NBC barely edged out FOX in the nightly demo average
