Final Broadcast Ratings: January 19, 2015
CBS swept the night, by dominating in total viewership, while edging the other three networks, in the A18-49 ratings. The network tied or won each hour of the night, in both categories. NCIS: LA had its first time slot win, while facing originals from both STATE OF AFFAIRS and CASTLE. Although the numbers are down, slightly from two weeks earlier, CBS still beat everyone else in all originals.
ABC's THE BACHELOR saw a nice rise in the ratings, growing one million viewers and 15% in the demo, from last week's episode. But the show was 3rd in the demo, during the 8 p.m. hour, and second for the 9 p.m. hour. CASTLE was slo up, but could not fend off NCIS:LA, and finished second in the hour.
FOX was down, from its last original Monday night, 2 weeks ago, did well to edge NBC for 3rd place. GOTHAM was off by 12% in the demo and down 500k in total viewers, from the last original, while SLEEPY HOLLOW fell more than 20% in the demo. I think it is time to consider SLEEPY HOLLOW a "Bubble Series" for renewal.
NBC was a competitive 4th place on the night, with THE CELEBRITY APPRENTICE up a tick, over last week's results. However, it is STATE OF AFFAIRS that drag the nightly average down. Not only is it a distant third during the 10 p.m. hour, it is the lowest rated program, from the Big 4 networks.
CW got back in the original episode game again, with both hour long series pulling in near normal ratings. I would have expected a slight boost from JANE THE VIRGIN, given the publicity from winning a Golden Globe Award.
