Final Broadcast Ratings: November 27, 2014

Just three words describe the Thanksgiving night TV ratings. Food, Family, Football. Very little that was not a football game, was watched on the night. NBC's Seahawks vs 49ers game did well, commanding 22.85 million viewers and a solid 7.4 demo rating. Compared to last year's game (Steelers vs Ravens), NBC was up 1.8 million viewers and a half a point in the A18-49 ratings. Having two better teams play the night game did help with the numbers.

CBS was mostly all original on the night, with just THE BIG BANG THEORY airing an encore episode. Considering it was going against the NFL game, CBS did decent numbers. ELEMENTARY even grew in the A18-49 ratings, by a tenth of a point.

FOX's DOG SPECTACULAR special was "ruff." Sorry, I had to do it. It was an uneventful third place in its time slot, but doing better than the BONES/GRACEPOINT combo that is usually on the night.

ABC gave us the one hour special THANK YOU AMERICA/ROBIN ROBERTS, but it did very little in the ratings, ranking a distant fourth in the 8 p.m. slot. ABC might have done better airing a third HTGAWM, instead.

CBS - 6.7 million viewers, 1.4 rating in A18-49

CW - 1.0 million viewers, 0.3 rating in A18-49

FOX - 4.6 million viewers, 1.3 rating in A18-49

NBC - 21.5 million viewers, 7.0 rating in A18-49
