Final Broadcast Ratings: December 22, 2014

It is just three days before Christmas, but there are still a hand full of shows still airing original episodes. THE GREAT CHRISTMAS LIGHT FIGHT closed out its short season, grabbing 5.9 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in Adults 18-49. The two hour program finished third in the 8 p.m. hour, but rose over CBS in the 9 p.m. hour.

On CBS, MIKE & MOLLY was the only original program of the night and posted 8.5 million viewers and a 1.7 demo rating. A pretty decent number considering it was surrounded by encore programming. It's lead in, a repeat THE BIG BANG THEORY, helped push CBS to win the 8 p.m. hour in both viewers and in the young demographic.

Over on NBC, new comer, STATE OF AFFAIRS, pulled in the lowest numbers by an original program, on the night. Just  five million viewers and a 1.0 demo rating tuned into the political drama. The episode LOST to a repeat episode of NCIS: LA, by 1.7 million viewers and a tenth of a point in the demo. Say "Bye-Bye" to STATE OF AFFAIRS, come spring time.

The CW and FOX went head to head with encore programming and, oddly enough, the CW did better. The CW pulled a 0.5 demo rating to the 0.4 FOX managed.
