It was nearly a clean sweep in the ratings, for NBC, as the network took four of the five reported categories, falling just one tenth of a point shy in the household ratings. The network was powered by two primetime NFL games, and pre-game shows, plus two editions of THE VOICE. NBC finished at least a full point above the #2 network, CBS, in each of the three age demographic categories.
NBC placed eight programs in the top 30, five of which were NFL related shows. THE VOICE was outside of the top to, with the Monday and Tuesday shows placing 15th and 17th, respective. The last top 30 program was Friday night's DATELINE, at #27.
CBS had a good week, placing second in four of the five categories and edging NBC in the household numbers. The network placed a total of 17 shows in the top 30, including three in the top five. CBS recorded the most watched NFL game of the season, which spilled over into primetime, on Sunday night. The Patriots vs Green Bay game collected 30.9 million viewers and a 9.7 demo rating.
ABC was back to third place, this week, in every category. DANCING WITH THE STARS lead the network with the final two shows ranking 6th and 7th on the chart. The finale commanded 16 million viewers and a 3.0 demo rating, its best numbers of the season. CASTLE joined three DWTS programs as the networks representation in the top 30 shows.
How many different ways can we write FOX sucks in the ratings? The network had ZERO shows in the top 30, and only GOTHAM made the top 45. It use to be that FOX was strong in the younger demographics, but ranked 4th in each of those categories.
