The former A&E drama LONGMIRE had found a new home on Netflix. A fourth season, consisting of 10 episodes, has been picked up by the streaming service, for 2015.
Nielsen to measure Netflix and Amazon:
The TV ratings source we all love, Nielsen, will begin measuring the activity of the streaming services Netflix and Amazon. [LINK]
FOX announces mid-season premiere dates:
FOX will premiere the new season of AMERICAN IDOL on Wednesday, January 7th, with a one hour episode. Following the long running competition series will be the new drama EMPIRE, starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson.
ABC releases season finale date of hit freshman series:
Scheduled for only 15 episodes per year, HOW TO GET A WAY WITH MURDER will have its first season finale on February 6th, 2015.
ABC schedules two mid-season series:
After the February sweeps, ABC will premiere two new dramas to the schedule. On Sunday, March 1, SECRETS AND LIES will bow in the 9:00 time slot, currently occupied by RESURRECTION. The following Thursday, March 5, AMERICAN CRIME will fill the void left by HTGAWM.
SALEM premiere date set:
Continuing the them of premieres, the second season of WGN America's drama SALEM will premiere sometime in April, 2015.
NBC cancels Cosby sitcom:
As sexual abuse allegations pile up against comedian Bill Cosby, NBC has decided to scrap their plans of a new summer comedy starring the veteran comedian. A day earlier, Netflix cancelled their release of Cosby's new stand up comedy movie, originally scheduled for the November 29th.
TNA Wrestling finds a new home:
The 'other' wrestling organization, TNA, has found home on Discovery Communication's Destination America channel. Destination America is seen in a little over half of America, or roughly 60 million homes. The partnership begin in January, 2015.
LUTHER coming back to BBC first:
Recently, FOX announced it was developing an American version of the BBC series LUTHER. Well, the BBC just announced that it is creating a new series/season of LUTHER for 2015. The new episodes will also air on BBC America.
