TV News Roundup: November 19, 2014

  • News series ordered By FX, Amazon, and GSN
  • Long running comedy gets renewed for 22 more episodes
  • CBS fills the Monday, 8:30 void
  • And, FOX adds yet another remake to the development schedule
Amazon orders series from PARKS & REC actor:
The comedy DIFFICULT PEOPLE, produced by Amy Poehler, has been picked up to series by Amazon. No time table set for release date(s).



Netflix drops Cos:
The streaming service Netflix was schedule to premiere a new comedy special from Bill Cosby, the day after Thanksgiving, but wil the escalating number of women coming out about sexual abuse by the comedian has forced the company to cancel the premiere. it is not know if/when Netflix will rescedule the release.



POP change date set:
CBS Corp. has announced that the TV Guide Network will change over to POP on January 14th.



FOX developing another remake:
After a disastrous year and a half, FOX continues to look at established properties for future TV series. Next on the list is an American version of the BBC series LUTHER, starring Idris Elba. So far FOX has only committed to a pilot being produced.



Tom Hardy coming to TV:
FX has picked up the series TABOO, from director Ridley Scott and starring Tom Hardy. The series will begin production on the first eight episodes sometime between mid to late 2015.



GSN orders horror game show:
Scary game show HELLEVATOR has been picked up to series by GSN, for 2015. The game show run time will be 60 minutes.



TBS orders season 12 of veteran comedy:
Veteran animated comedy, AMERICAN DAD, has been renewed for 22 more episodes, on TBS. This will be the 12th season, overall, for the comedy and second for TBS.



CBS fills void left by THE MILLERS:
CBS announced that MIKE & MOLLY will return with new episodes on December 8th, filling the 8:30 p.m. time slot. The week before, the network will air four encore episodes, back-to-back, from 8 to 10 p.m.
