Final Broadcast Ratings: November 20, 2014
ABC was the clear and dominate network on Thursday night, hauling in an average of 9.4 million viewers and a 2.9 rating in Adults 18-49. The network won two of the three hours of primetime, had three of the five most watched programs of the night and was the only network to end the night with more viewers than it did to began the night.
The biggest gainer for ABC was the freshman crime drama HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER. It rose 7% in the demographic ratings and added over a half million total viewers. It held 98% of the audience that its lead in, SCANDAL, served up to it at 10 p.m.
After posting its best Thursday night ratings, last week, THE BIG BANG THEORY posted its lowest numbers of the season. Week-to-week, the hit comedy lost 2.3 million viewers and dropped 11% in the A18-49 ratings. The 9 p.m. comedies too a bit of a hit as some local CBS affiliates preempted the shows to cover the Presidents Immigration speech.
NBC also had affiliated dump the schedule for the President's speech. The network lost about 25% of its numbers from preliminary to final ratings. But, PARENTHOOD still jumped 30%, week-to-week, in the A18-49 rating.
Things at FOX seem to only get worse, week-to-week. BONES was once on of the more stable and solid programs on the schedule, but it can now be lumped in with the likes of NEW GIRL, THE MINDY PROJECT and GRACEPOINT. It is still 3rd in its time slot, but just barely.
