Final Broadcast Ratings: November 14, 2014
Usually awards show do good in the ratings, unless the air on Friday nights. CBS presented the HOLLYWOOD FILM AWARDS for the first time on TV, and based on the ratings, it may be the last time they are on TV. CBS tied the CW for last place in the A18-49 ratings, with just a 0.5 rating on the night. The CW has one repeat episode of WHOSE LINE? and still posted that 0.5 rating. It may be one of the worst numbers CBS has posted on a Friday night of original programming.
On the opposite end, ABC swept the night with a good showing by LAST MAN STANDING. The fourth year comedy posted its best ratings of the season, drawing 7.0 million viewers and a 1.5 demo rating. Week-to-week, LSM grew 300K in total viewers and jumped 15% in the demo. CRISTELA did get a bump up from last week, but it was minimal, compared to the growth of its lead in. A sitcom that was looking like a good fit for LMS is now a bubble show.
NBC did challenge ABC for the top spot, but settled for second place. It did have the most watched show of the night, as DATELINE collected eight million viewers and a 1.5 demo rating. It topped SHARK TANK in viewers, but was two tenths of a rating point in the A18-40 ratings.
