It was a clean sweep for NBC this week, posting the best numbers in all five reported categories. The win came on a strong SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL (#2) game, drawing near 21 million viewers, and three nights/five hours of THE VOICE, which took spots 10, 11 and 13. Each of thee four shows that followed THE VOICE on those three nights, each made the top 30 chart. In total, NBC put nine program in the top 30, including the fall finale of THE BLACKLIST at #21.
ABC took second place in the three age demographic categories, thanks to a strong showing from SATURDAY NIGHT COLLEGE FOOTBALL, which commanded a 3.0 demo rating, over the three hours of primetime. It is the best night on ABC's schedule, for the demographic. But, ABC also placed six shows in the top 30 viewers chart. It's most watched program of the week was DANCING WITH THE STARS (#6), with 13.3 million viewers.
CBS' drop in the ratings can be tied to its horrid Friday night ratings. Instead of the regular schedule of THE AMAZING RACE and the two crime dramas H5O and BLUE BLOODS, CBS presented the HOLLYWOOD FILM AWARDS. The awards show ranked 64th, with a little over 4 million viewers, and the Post-awards show placed 81st, with under 2.5 million viewers. the demo ratings were worse than FOX's encore programs and equaled the CW's numbers. But, with that, CBS still pushed 13 shows in the top 30, including three of the top five.
FOX continues to look horrible. It was 4th place in every category, except the A18-39 ratings, which it topped CBS. Had it not been for the NFL overrun and THE OT shows, FOX would not have a top 40 program, and THE SIMPSONS (#43) would not have done as well as it did. A large majority of the network's shows ranked 55th, or worse.
