Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 10/22/14

For the second straight night, FOX sweeps the evening with its coverage of the 2014 World Series. Game two brought in a little more than game one (prelim to prelim), drawing 11.1 million viewers and a 2.9 rating in Adults 18-49. That is way down from 2013's game two, which collected 13.4 million viewers and a 3.6 demo rating. FOX worked its contract, in recent years, to cover as few of games before the World Series. Now, when its regular line up stinks, the network could have used a lot more games to help out the regular line up.

ABC and CBS tied in the demo, for second place. SURVIVOR edged out the two comedies, by a tenth of a ratings point, while the 9 p.m. comedies, on ABC, topped CRIMINAL MINDS in the demographic ratings. STALKER had an easy time taking NASHVILLE, head to head.

NBC was a distant 4th place, with only CHICAGO PD rising above the cellar for a 3rd place spot at 10 p.m.

The CW season premiere of second year series THE 100 was a bit disappointing. The numbers are not horrible, for the CW, but as well as the series did last spring, The network expectation had to be a lot higher than the 1.6 million viewers and 0.5 demo.
