Final Broadcast Ratings: October 24, 2014
We had two premieres on Friday, both on NBC. The fourth season premiere of GRIMM and the new series CONSTANTINE. Both shows placed 4th, in their respective time slots, in total viewers, but rose above CBS in the A18-49 demographic, to take third.
GRIMM was down nearly 900,000 viewers and 22% in the demo, compared to last year's season premiere. CONSTANTINE was down one million viewers and 22% from the DRACULA series premiere. Given the night and the increase of time-shifted viewing, the numbers may not be as bad as they actually look.
FOX won the night, thanks to game three of the World Series. The game drew over 12.1 million viewers and a 3.1 demo rating. That is down, slightly, from last year's game three, which was played on a Saturday night. e could be looking at an all time low World series if these numbers project our for the balance of the series.
ABC and CBS did feel the hit by the World Series. From 8 to 10 p.m., both networks lost viewers, week-to-week. THE AMAZING RACE had the biggest loss, dropping 29% in the demo, from last week's season high. But, both 20/20 and BLUE BLOODS saw an increase in their numbers, with BLUE BLOODS posting a season high in viewers and matching its best A18-49 rating.
