Final Broadcast Ratings: October 13, 2014
The CW premiered its newest series, JANE THE VIRGIN, and the results are not that bad. The opener collected 1.6 million viewers and a 0.6 rating in Adults 18-49. It only lost one tenth of a ratings point in the demo, but rose 23% in total viewership, from its THE ORIGINALS lead in. Compared to the BEAUTY AND THE BEAST season premiere, in the same time slot, last year, the numbers are up nearly a half a million viewers and 100% in the demographic ratings. A vast improvement over, year-to-year. What did you think of the series premiere of JANE THE VIRGIN?
NBC sweeps the night, edging ABC and CBS in total viewers, but dominating in the A18-49 ratings. THE VOICE was the #2 show of the night in both total viewership (13.3 million) and in the demo (4.0 rating). THE BLACK LIST continues to easily win its time slot, with a 40% advantage over CASTLE, in the demo ratings.
CBS had a good night, placing second on the night and producing the #1 show of the night, THE BIG BANG THEORY. NCIS: LA is still pulling down the averages and is a third place program, so CBS may needs to look as flipping the series to a new night.
ABC and FOX finish the night 3rd and 4th, respectively. GOTHAM is still doing good numbers in a very competitive time slot. SLEEPY HOLLOW is looking weaker, but FOX has too many other issues to focus on the second year series.
