US Box Office Results: September 5 - 7, 2014
The first weekend after the summer movie season produced just one movie that could collect over $10 million, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, and the one new film in wide release, THE IDENTICAL, failed to reach the top 10.
For GUARDIANS, it is the fifth week, out of six, it has been the #1 movie and it's total gross is now up to $295 million.
THE IDENTICAL, in over 1,950 theaters, could only grab $1.9 million in receipts, placing 11th on the weekend. The oldest movie in the top 10, LUCY, snagged the #10 spot, with less theaters then THE IDENTICAL.
