US Box Office Results: September 12 - 14, 2014
A pair of new movies take the top two spots in this weekend's box office results, lead by the thriller, NO GOOD DEED with $24.5 million. That is about 50% more than the total take of the #2 movie A DOLPHIN TALE 2. NO GOOD DEED is also the first new movie to open over $20 million, since TMNT opened in early August.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY tops $300 million with this weekend's take. TMNT, out one week less, has a total domestic total of $181 million. And, sleeper hit comedy LET'S BE COPS, made for just $17 million, has a five week total of $73 million.
Coming in 6th place was the new release, THE DROP. It collected over $4 million despite being in just 800 theaters. It had the second highest per screen average ($5,200), behind NO GOOD DEED ($11,000).
