Yes, even CBS is getting into the superhero business, again. Reports are coming out that the nework has a series commitment to DC Comic's SUPERGIRL. The commitment is equivalent to a full season, financially, even if CBS balks and decides not to air the series. Greg Berlanti, ARROW, will be the executive producer of the new series.
TV Guide Network rebranded:
The CBS Corp owned TV GUIDE NETWORK is being re-branded as POP. The network will be a 'multi-platform destination dedicated to celebrating the fun of being a fan.' The new channel will launch in Q1 of 2015, with over 400 hours of original programming.
TYRANT renewed by FX:
The freshman drama series TYRANT has been given a 13 episode order for a second season. look for another summer premiere for the next season.
ABC answers 500 QUESTIONS:
ABC has picked up the game show event series 500 QUESTIONS, produced by Mark Burnett. Look for the series to premiere sometime in 205.
JUSTIFIED adds cast members:
The final season of JUSTIFIED will feature two new regular characters, played by Sam Elliot and Garrett Dillahunt (RAISING HOPE). Elliot will play the gangster husband of the character played by Mary Steenburgen, from last season. Dillahunt will play a tough veteran turned private contractor working for shady "businessmen."
HBO adapting 12 year old movie into series:
The movie IN AMERICA was releases in 2002, and HBO is now looking to adapt it to series, lead by the family Sheridan. The movie & series center around an irish immigrant family that move into a Bronx apartment and struggle to befriend their new immigrant neighbors
