- Two players take a step closer to OTT services

Sony has completed a deal with Viacom to bring at least 22 cable networks, including MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon, to Sony's new virtual pay-TV service. This would also give Sony subscribers access to Viacom's TV Everywhere websites & Apps, plus VOD packages. Disney and 21st Century FOX are also considering to supply content to Sony.
Verizon set to enter OTT service:
Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam revealed that the company will launch an internet based TV service, sometime in the first half of 2015. Last year, Verizon purchased technology from Intel to help advance its push to becoming a widespread provider.
Another classic series may get spin-off:
Reports are out that the classic FOX sitcom, MARRIED... WITH CHILDREN, may get a spin-off series, focusing on the two Bundy children, Bud and Kelly. The series is in the early stages of development.
Showtime to cancel series after final season:
The dramedy Showtime series NURSE JACKIE will end its run after the upcoming seventh season. Ratings for the most recent season saw a viewership average of around 300,000 viewers, for the Live+SD ratings.
AMC Renews reality series:
GAME OF ARMS has been given a second season order from AMC. The episode count for season two will be 10 episodes.
