Preliminary Ratings: Monday 09/29/14

The second Monday night of the new season saw a tight race between NBC, CBS and ABC, for the most viewers, while NBC had an easy time taking the A18-49 ratings. Just 300k separated CBS (#1) from NBC (#3) in total viewers, with all ABC, NBC and CBS all grabbing 12 million viewers.

Looking at the season premieres first, CASTLE had an easy time defeating CBS' transferred series NCIS: LA. CASTLE collected about two million more viewers and had a 26% margin over NCIS: LA, in the A18-49 ratings. For CASTLE is is the best season premiere in three years. FOR NCIS, it was a major disappointment. Both programs lost to THE BLACKLIST, in the A18-49 ratings.

Looking at the week-to-week gains/losses from last Monday's premieres,

THE BIG BANG THEORY - down 1.8 million viewers and lost 13% in the demo ratings.
SCORPION - down 1.6 million viewers and lost just 3% in the demo ratings.

THE VOICE - down just 300k in viewership and even in the A18-49 ratings.
THE BLACKLIST - down 1.6 million viewers and 18% in the A18- 49 ratings

GOTHAM - down 900,000 viewers and 12% in the demographic ratings
SLEEPY HOLLOW - down 400,000 viewers and 15% in the demo ratings.

Preliminary L+SD Network Averages:
ABC - 12.2 million viewers, 2.1 rating in A18-49
CBS - 12.3 million viewers, 2.9 rating in A18-49
CW - 0.9 million viewers, 0.9 rating in A18-49
FOX - 6.2 million viewers, 2.3 rating in A18-49
NBC - 12.0 million viewers, 3.5 rating in A18-49
