Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 08/06/14
CBS and NBC were co-winners of Wednesday night. thanks to their respective reality competition series, BIG BROTHER and AMERICA'S GOT TALENT.
BIG BROTHER was the #1 show of the night, in the A18-49 ratings, grabbing a 2.1 ratings. that edges AGT by a tenth of a point. But, AMERICA'S GOT TALENT was, by far, the most watched program of the night, with 10 million viewers. AGT drew 78% more viewers than BIG BROTHER, the second most watched show of the evening.
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, the third reality competition series of the night, barely beat the encore repeats of ABC. However, it was ABC that topped FOX in total viewers, from 8 to 10 p.m., averaging 3.8 million viewers.
TAXI BROOKLYN tied EXTANT in the 10 p.m. hour, as each drew a 1.0 rating in Adults 18-49. EXTANT is down 38% in the demo ratings, since it's premiere, just a few short weeks ago. I think we could see TAXI BROOKLYN top the heavily hyped sci-fi drama, EXTANT, next week, if the trends hold true.
PENN & TELLER: FOOL US did well in it's second week, on the CW. the series is down 14% in viewership, but the A18-49 ratings held 100% of the premiere audience. The CW needs to quickly get PENN & TELLER back under contract for another summer run in 2015.
