Preliminary Ratings: Monday 08/04/14
ABC may be going to the well once too many, on Monday night, as the series premiere of BACHELOR IN PARADISE did little to carry over audiences from THE BACHELORETTE. The series opener could only produce five million viewers and a 1.3 rating in Adults 18-49, placing it in a tie with RUNNING WILD, on NBC. Compared to the season average of THE BACHELORETTE, BIP is off by 24% in the demo ratings and 1.7 viewers. If the series can't get the viewers now, it will be hard pressed to get them later.
MISTRESSES didn't miss a beat, with its new lead in. The series pulled in about what it has done all season. However, it was once again, last in the time slot, not even close to NBC and CBS.
RUNNING WILD WITH BEAR GRYLLS is down a bit from last week, but I do expect the numbers to adjust down when Finals come out this evening. Like last week, AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR will grab a few of those viewers when they separate them out by program, not by time slot.
NINJA WARRIOR was the #2 show of the night, in the A18-49 ratings, finishing just behind MASTERCHEF. Both reality series are having strong summers and each win their time slots with no real competition.
UNDER THE DOME has been regulated to second place. The once hot drama is now 15% behind the top show of the hour, in the demo ratings. but, it is still the most watched program of the night. But, compared to last year, the numbers are off by 30-40 percent.
