Final Broadcast Ratings: July 31, 2014
CBS cruised to a victory sweep, on Thursday night, with it's combination of comedy, reality and drama. NBC and ABC split for second place, on the night, and FOX is a distant 4th place.
BIG BROTHER was the top program of the night, in the A18-49 ratings, grabbing a 2.2 score. Only a repeat of THE BIG BANG THEORY (#1 in viewership) was close, getting a 1.6 rating. BIG BROTHER is on par with the numbers it generated last Thursday night.
ABC's all original line up included the series premiere of THE QUEST, which did no better than what BLACK BOX had been collecting over the summer. THE QUEST was 3rd in it's time slot, beating only a repeat of SLEEPY HOLLOW, on FOX. Not a good start for the reality series.
ROOKIE BLUE was 2nd in the 9 p.m. hour, behind BIG BROTHER, and NY MED was the most watched show of the 10 p.m. hour. NY MED was the second most watched program of the night.
NBC's comedies are a complete non factor, basically tying FOX's GANG RELATED for 3rd place. When finals are released, I would not be surprised to see NBC 4th in the hour.
LAST COMIC STANDING did win it's time slot, in the A18-49 ratings, but it is a much weaker show now, than it was just a few weeks earlier. It was the least watched show of the late hour of primetime.
