Final Broadcast Ratings: August 24, 2014

NBC swept the Sunday night ratings, but it was not typical slam dunk as you would expect with an NFL game in the mix. The preseason game drew seven million viewers and a 2.1 rating in Adults 18-49, placing second on the night, in both categories. NBC just edged out CBS by 100k, in total viewers and only a half a ratings point, in the demo numbers.

The game was one-upped by BIG BROTHER, which posted it's best numbers of the season. The Sunday edition collected 7.2 million viewers and a 2.5 demo rating, winning it's 8 p.m. time slot. That is a 14% increase in the A18-49 demographic. Unfortunately, for CBS, the strong BIG BROTHER numbers did not help the following dramas at 9 and 10 p.m.

FOX was not far behind, in the demo ratings, finishing just a tenth of a ratings point behind CBS. Its NFL preseason game overrun, helped make the final numbers close.

ABC was mostly out of it all night. It drew slightly better viewer numbers than FOX, but was 25% behind FOX in the demo ratings.
