Final Broadcast Ratings: August 20, 2014
CBS and NBC share the Wednesday night leadership, but it was CBS that won the A18-49 demographic, while more total viewers tuned into NBC.
CBS' EXTANT had it's first of two back-to-back episode nights (rated as one program) and the result was slightly better than having a repeat of CRIMINAL MINDS in the mix. The sci-fi series pulled in ratings almost exactly what it did, one week earlier.
BIG BROTHER was the night's #1 show, in the A18-49 ratings, grabbing a 2.3 score. That is a 10% increase from last Wednesday's episode and it also widens the gap between BB and AMERICA'S GOT TALENT.
Speaking of AMERICA'S GOT TALENT, it was the most watched program of the evening, but lost a half a million viewers, from one week earlier. It would not surprise me to see AGT fall below nine million viewers, before the end of this season.
TAXI BROOKLYN and MOTIVE battled for second place, during the 10 p.m. hour. MOTIVE shot up 14% in the demo ratings, while TAXI BROOKLYN lost 11% in the category. Neither series has earned getting a season order for 2015, since they have lost to EXTANT, which has only a tiny chance of renewal, by CBS.
