US Box Office Results: July 25 - 27, 2014
Mind over strength, beauty over brawn. Scarlett Johansson's LUCY easily tops The Rock's HERCULES as this weekend's #1 movie. LUCY grosses $44 million, $15 million more than HERCULES, securing production costs, in it's first three days of release. Projected out, LUCY should not have a problem getting over $100 million, domestically, while HERCULES will struggle to reach $90 million.
DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is still going strong, bringing in over $16 million, in its third weekend. The movie is poised to possibly top $200 million by the end of its 4th weekend.
