HBO is in talks with actor Colin Farrell as a lead for the second season of TRUE DETECTIVE. No official word from HBO, but they do promise an announcement "soon."
FCC questions Disney, CBS in Comcast/TWC merger:
The Justice Department has reached out to media companies as it looks into the merger and if it is anti-competitive. No other media company has stated publicly how it feels about the merger, but are worried about fair treatment of their content with those of the Comcast/NBCU.
4TH & LOUD premiere date moved back:
The AMC docu-series 4TH & LOUD, has been moved back one week, to August 12th. the series will focus on the Los Angeles KISS Arena Football Franchise, which began it's inaugural season this spring.
BADLANDS gets series order:
AMC has picked up the martial arts drama BADLANDS. The first season will consist of six episodes and will premiere in late 2015, or early 2016.
MTV renews reality series:
The movie to reality series CATFISH has been renewed for a 4th season by MTV.
MTV Picks up new drama:
MTV has ordered to series the drama SHANNARA, based on a line of fantasy books by Terry Brooks. The first season will consist of 10 episodes.
XBOX gets first look at new drama:
The new FX drama THE STRAIN will get an early premiere on XBOX. FX and XBOX will parnet to present lots of exclusive content, behind the scenes and images from the first episode of the series.
