Ratings Review: THE NIGHT SHIFT (Season One)
THE NIGHT SHIFT was a nice surprise hit drama for the summer of 2014. I drew good numbers for a summer NBC series. Heck, it drew good numbers for an NBC series, summer of not.
The ratings for about half it's run are better than veteran NBC drama, PARENTHOOD. Even when the lead in, AMERICA'S GOT TALENT, was a repeat, the numbers did dip, but not to drastically. Somehow, NBC found a show that viewers do seem to enjoy.
For the summer season, THE NIGHT SHIFT averaged 6.59 million viewers and a 1.4 rating in Adults 18-49. NBC did not waste any time to give a second season order to the medical drama. There will be 14 episodes for the 2015 season.
