Ratings Review: DALLAS (Season Three)
The first half of season three of DALLAS showed that the series may be losing interest by the fans, now that Larry Hagman's JR Ewing is no longer part of the story.
These eight episodes only reached two million viewers twice and never reached three million. In contrast, season two only had one episode draw less than two million viewers. Can this resurrected series make it beyond a third season with so few regular viewers, by a network that is regularly giving us series that can draw 3.0+ million viewers each week?
For the spring half of the 2014 season, DALLAS averaged 1.99 million viewers and a 0.5 rating in Adults 18-49. The second half of the third season returns on August 18th. It may be crucial for the series to pull at least 2.5 million viewers for the Summer premiere.
