Ratings Review: BASEBALL NIGHT IN AMERICA (Summer 2014)

A national TV package for Major League Baseball games has really past it's time. The over saturation and ability to watch any game, from almost any location, is now common, for the tru baseball fan. The FOX ratings for their weekly Saturday night game reflects that as the ratings are near the bottom of the daily charts.

Airing national games, on FOX, is only needed as a way to get the prime parts of the MLB TV package, like the All-Star game and the post -season. That is why the eight national games are now on Saturday nights, instead of Monday nights, like they were in the 70's & 80's.

For the 8 night schedule, FOX BASEBALL NIGHT IN AMERICA averaged 2.14 million viewers and a 0.5 rating in Adults 18-49. FOX is now just 10 weeks from the post season, the meat of the MLB TV Package.
