Primetime Cable Ratings: July 30, 2014
All the hype and press for SHAKNADO 2 worked out for SyFy. The movie was the top cable program of Wednesday night, drawing 3.9 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in Adults 18-49. This is nearly triple the ratings the first movie received in it's premiere airing, back on July11, 2013. But that movie gained momentum through subsequent airings, over the following weeks.SHARKNADO 2 was also big on Twitter. SyFy claims over one Billion tweets related to the movie. but Nielsen has the impressions at 67 million. it will also be interesting to see how well the movie does in the Live+3 and Live+7 ratings, given all the social media exposure the movie received.
DUCK DYNASTY was the night's top series on cable, finishing in second place in both the A18-49 ratings and total viewership.
