Final Broadcast Ratings: July 23, 2014
NBC sweeps Wednesday night's ratings, with a new AMERICA'S GOT TALENT being the night's most watched program, with 10.3 million viewers. AGT was flat from the previous night's numbers. AGT should be the #1 and #2 shows of the week, when the weekly ratings come out next week.
Following AGT was the new series TAXI BROOKLYN, which had a dramatic rise in the ratings, with the much improved lead in. Week-to-week, TAXI BROOKLYN rose 600,000 viewers and 25% in the A18-49 ratings. Not as good as THE NIGHT SHIFT did behind AGT, but still a decent number, for the summer.
BIG BROTHER finished second in the A18-49 ratings. This is the best demo number by the reality series since the premiere week, back in June.
The news was not as good for the new drama EXTANT. The ratings continue to fall for the series. this week, the numbers fell 1.5 million viewers and 27% in the demo, from last week. Since the premiere, two weeks earlier, EXTANT is down 3.2 million viewers and 31% in the A18-49 ratings.
ABC's MOTIVE had a big drop from last week, losing 25% in the A18-49 ratings. The show was a distant third place in the 10 p.m. hour.
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE was up from last week, but it is still one of the worst numbers of the season. The addition of AGT on the night, along with BIG BROTHER will just continue to crush the series, which should have ended two years ago.
