Final Broadcast Ratings: July 2, 2014
BIG BROTHER was the top program on Wednesday night, for the second week in a row, but it's numbers are down from the premiere. The 16th edition of the reality series drew 5.7 million viewers and a 1.8 rating in Adults 18-49. That is down by over one million viewers and 22% in the demo ratings. A substantial drop, but still good enough for a win.
CBS also gave us an encore of UNDER THE DOME, to help pump up the buzz on the second year drama, but the ratings fell through the floor with the schedule change from CRIMINAL MINDS. Week-to-week, in the 9 p.m. hour, CBS dropped about three million viewers and over 50% in the demo ratings. The weaker 9 p.m. ratings also affected CSI, at 10 p.m. That last hour of primetime was off by close to one million viewers and 14% in the demo.
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE mostly stayed even with last week's numbers But, the show could only tie a repeat of AMERICA'S GOT TALENT, in the 8 to 10 p.m. hours.
NBC new summer drama TAXI BROOKLYN also retained it's numbers in the A18-49 ratings. The series posted a 1.o rating, for episode two. It won the hour in both demo and total viewers. But, the competition was weak, for both CBS and ABC.
