Final Broadcast Ratings: July 15, 2014
Tuesday night was all about the Major League Baseball All-Star game, on FOX. the yearly contest between the best baseball players of the American and National leagues collected 11.3 million viewers and a 3.2 rating in Adults 18-49, easily the most watched and highest rated program of the week, and perhaps of the week.
Compared to recent All-Star Games, this year's ratings is on par with the last two years. Viewership is up a bit, but the A18-49 numbers are even.
The season finale of the summer drama THE NIGHT SHIFT did well, despite having a non-orginal episode of AMERICA'S GOT TALENT as it's lead in. The final episode drew 6.1 million viewers and a 1.1 demo rating. However, it is down, slightly, from last week's episode. I am sure the baseball game did take a small bite of of the drama's numbers, especially on the east coast.
ABC's low rated reality shows continue to lag behind, do no better than the drama repeats of CBS. However, instead of railing against ABC, it shows how strong CBS shows repeat. When you consider the coast of airing the repeats on CBS and the original programs on ABC and NBC, you see why CBS does more with less original programming.
